Our objective was to drive awareness of the Neusiedlersee DAC appellation, its producers and its wines, with the UK wine trade and media.

Austria’s Neusiedlersee wine-growing region, in Burgenland, to the east of Lake Neusiedl, stretches from the hills and the wine capital of Gols, over the flat Heideboden, and down to the See-winkel area. The vineyards on the banks of Lake Neusiedl – a shallow steppe lake – are home to a wealth of grape varieties.

Working with Neusiedlersee DAC since 2022, over the past two years, Spritz has been responsible for a programme of activations, including three trade lunches at Trivet, a trade tasting, four press trips and a consumer activation with London merchant, Vagabond, to raise the profile of the region.

Two groups of press and influencers visited the appellation in May and October of 2023. Visiting producers, vineyards and tasting the wines, the visits generated coverage across several key titles including The World of Fine Wine and Decanter.

In October a trade tasting was also hosted on behalf of Neusiedlersee, with more than 70 visitors attending to taste the wines of 14 of the appellation’s visiting producers. Looking ahead to 2024, we look forward to hosting more visits to the region and inviting the trade to a masterclasses in the spring, and another trade tasting in October.
